Thermit Australia Staff
Getting to know you
ASHLEIGH CARTER: Quality Officer
Describe your role with Thermit Australia, and what a typical day for you entails.
Working in the QC Department means I’m responsible for making sure our products are to the greatest standard before they go out to our
customers. Every day is different, but my day can consist of checking portions, testing our welds, working on R&D projects, checking
weld kits or sometimes performing the weld itself.
What do you find the most challenging at Thermit Australia?
Aluminothermic reactions are not an exact science, and
that each reaction is unique which can sometimes make it difficult to control.
What is your favourite part about working for Thermit Australia?
The people I get to work with make my job easier
and more enjoyable. It’s also nice to see my Dad at work too.
What is your favourite famous or inspirational quote?
“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to
it.”
If you could change something in the world what would it be?
For everyone to be nicer. If people stop and think
about the things they say and do, the world would be better.
If all jobs had the exact same salary which career would you want?
Maybe something that gives back to people. A
lot of the jobs that help people in need are either volunteer work or pay quite low, so it’d be nice to not only help people but also
have a stable income.
What is your favourite thing to do when you’re not working?
Soccer. I love to play the game, but I also love
watching it.
If you had to be sticky or itchy for the rest of your life which would you choose?
Probably sticky. Being itchy
forever just sounds like a bad time.
